Sarah-Jo just finished baking Banana Chip Muffins ~  and oh my are they YUMMY!

Getting the finishing touches on cafe samples  ~ We will be making a tree ornament, a set of gift tags, a mini notebook and Snowman Soup.  Watch for pictures next week... cuz I can't give away the surprises!

Another weekend complete... and a busy one at that!

This past weekend our Church put on 'Bethlehem Live'  and it was awesome!
In the past years it was held on a Saturday evening ~ this is the first year that is was held a Friday & a saturday ~ each night there were over 400 visitors to Bethlehem to see the new born Prince (and yes we had babies taking part...)

I was part of the cast ~ I played a buyer in the market place ~ it was inside the sanctuary & was warm... many played parts outside ~ mitts hats & scarves were required beneath the costumes.  What a great experience.

This week events ~ Stamping Cafe in Kingston this Friday evening, December 9th ~ Cataraqui United Church Hall from 7 - 9:30pm ~ It is our Christmas party ~ I will be hosting this event being so close to Christmas ~ there will be gifts  for everyone under the tree!  We will be doing a project using the Stamp of the Month is "Mad About You"

Off to prepare for the Cafe~ Hope to see you later this week!

Mondays ~  a start to a new week & I just love them ~ time to reflect on the weekend spent with Family, and to start planning for the week ahead ~ a day to relax from all the business associated with the weekend ~ a change in pace.

With December fast approaching I find myself thinking about Christmas ~ are you ready?  I have gone up to the attic to see what I will need this year for decorating ~ made my list of what I need to purchase to complete my decorating & am ready to head out to the store.

We put up some more lights this past weekend and found out that we need a few more extension cords... I bought & light & sound system for outside this year ~ you know the kind that plays music & the lights all flash at different times in the song... I am soooo excited for December 1st as that is the night I will have it ready to start (the neighbours have had a couple of nights preview on what we are doing... )

I am also finishing up my Christmas cards to go in the mail this weekend ~ have you received any Christmas cards in the mail yet?  I just LOVE getting cards in the mail ~ call me old fashioned ~ don't you think it is nice to get something in the mail... other thatn bills?

There is lots going on in the stamping & papercrafting world!  Preparing gifts for friends & family, Christmas cards, and Christmas parties...

So here we are with the weeknd past ~ and another week ahead of us!  What a great weekend this was ~

Had Stamping Cafe in Kingston on Friday night ~ There were 7 participants

Here is what we made:



A teabag folded Christmas tree ~ Elemental B&T paper was used for this project





Gift card holder using Wonderland B&T paper & the November Stamp of the Month




Inside sleeve taken out ~ decorated  with a
snowflake & some 'bling'

Then on Saturday I attended an All Day Crop Fundraiser for the GEMS at a local church.  It was a really great day with wonderful friends~ Tina, Wendy (one of my team members), Stephanie & Bonnie were there.

Every year,  the Sunday before Christmas our family meets at

Johnson Brothers Tree farm to choose the family Christmas tree.
We have been doing this for many years & it is something that everyone looks forward to every year!
The border has shimmering pearl on the embossed snowflakes.
 I have embellishhed with a Teabag folded Christmas tree




We were challenged to create a page using only Black, White or Sepia ~
 I just happened to have a photo of my Dad whren he was just a boy!  They called him Billy!

Family Wedding

Went to a family wedding this weekend ~ My Nephew is the first of the cousins to get married ~



Lindsay (his beautiful bride) along with her wedding party & some family members made the invitations:






We used CTMH Chocolate & Pear card stock for the base ~ then

vellum for the overlay ~ we heat embossed a design on the vellum ~ then tied it with a organza ribbon.

We all had fun creating these!

It was a beautiful August evening when they held their wedding in Beautiful Downtown Kingston...

Missing in Action

Hello friends & followers ~ I bet you thought I fell off the planet...

Just a wee hick up in life & a sick kid in hospital ~ all is better now.

We spent 17 days in CHEO (Children's Hospital in Eastern Ontario) with a sick teenager ~ They treated us very well ~ Hubby & I took turns staying over (funny how that they want to be so grown up...until they are sick...) I am just getting back to my so called 'normal ' routine with my creative outlet as the last piece of the puzzle!

~ So much has happened in the Stamping World & Close to My Heart ~

Convention is now over... and from what I have read so far, it was awesome!

I have had a sneak peek at the newest Idea Book ~ WOW ~ I just  love what is coming out!

The Fall & Winter 2011 Idea Books  are on their way to beautiful downtown Williamsburg as we speak!
